Climate-KIC invites you to participate in its international summer school around innovation in climate change mitigation & adaptation. Climate-KIC is an initiative from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and its aim is to drive innovation in the area of climate change adaptation and mitigation. Three pillars have been developed to contribute to this aim: innovation, entrepreneurship and education. In the latter pillar, top-universities from 5 European countries are involved, such as Imperial College London and ETH Zurich. In the Netherlands these are Wageningen UR, Utrecht University and Delft University. Climate-KIC organizes a 5-week summer school (theJourney) in July- August 2012 with the final aim to present a business plan in the field of climate change innovation. Topics covered during this summer school are climate change assessments, low carbon societies and adaptive water management. During the summer school, you travel to 3 European cities where you’ll meet top-scientists and entrepreneurs and are coached in merging the fields of business and climate change. The summer school is free of charge for PhD students of Wageningen UR, Utrecht University and Delft University. Accommodation and transport between the different locations of theJourney is also provided by Climate-KIC. This summer school provides PhD students with the unique opportunity to translate their scientific knowledge into a marketable business plan and to create their own start-up. By participating in theJourney, you’ll become part of a growing European network of young innovators. Interested in participating in theJourney?
