Seminar vegetation-climate feedbacks
- Location
- Date
- April 28, 2005
- Duration
-
All day
An informal mini simposium on vegetation-climate feedbacks estimulated by the visit of Dr. Leonel Sternberg to Wageningen University. He is known for his work on the ecophysiology of plants (carbon and water budgets) in tropical forests and savannas and how this scales up to ecosystem function.
1) Program:
- Marten Scheffer: Positive feedbacks between vegetation and the water cycle.
- Bart Kruijt: The Baxio hypothesis: investigating the role of topography and heterogeneity in Central Amazon Terra firme rainforest affecting carbon exchange and vegetation stability.
- Leonel Sternberg: Structure and function of roots from neotropical savanah and forest trees.
2) Time and Location: at 13:30 to 15:30. Building “de Dreijenborg”, Ritzemabosweg 32a Wageningen. Room 512
3) Confirmation: we are reserving a small room so if you are really planning to come, please let us know.
