NanoSENSE PhD Workshop

Location
Room Gaia 1, Gaia building, Droevendaalsesteeg 3, 6708 PB Wageningen
Date
June 16, 2010
Duration
9:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Recently, SENSE launched a so-called research cluster on Environmental Analysis, Behavior and Risks of Engineered Nanoparticles, named NanoSENSE (see: http://www.sense.nl/docs/2867).

Aim is to (a) stimulate communication and crosslinks between researchers working in this field, primarily SENSE PhD students, and (b) contribute to (inter)national activities in this domain of research. Among the currently planned activities are a PhD workshop and a national symposium for a wider audience.

The NanoSENSE cluster coordinators hereby announce the first in a series of annual workshops on 'Detection, fate and risks of Engineered nanomaterials'.

This special PhD workshop will take place on June 16, 2010, at Wageningen University. Target group size is 20 - 25 participants. The workshop is open for all SENSE PhD students working in this field, but also PhD students and researchers from other institutions are most welcome. Contributions concerning properties or characterization of nanomaterials from a manufacturers' perspective are also invited.

All participants are asked to present their work  in 5 - 15 minutes, followed by 5 - 10 min group discussion. If registrations exceed 25 participants, we keep the right to select because of time and group size limitations (a complementary follow-up symposium with invited speakers is planned in order to accomodate a wider audience).

Registration: send an e-mail with: name, address, institution, title of presentation, duration of presentation (5 - 15 min), and five key words characterizing your research project before June 1st, to bart.koelmans@wur.nl.

Organisation: Bart Koelmans (WU), Jan Hendriks (RU), Heather Leslie (IvM-VU) and Nico van den Brink (Alterra).

Final program: will be provided through e-mail early june.
