Friday 21 March 2003 - St John's Innovation Centre, Cambridge, UK Framework 6 presents a radical departure from many of the European Commission's previous practices concerning the types of project sought and the criteria for selection. In particular the desire to achieve a large critical mass means that projects will be larger and therefore require more time to be invested in their construction.

Thursday 27 March 2003 - St John's Innovation Centre, Cambridge, UK The European Commission's new Framework Programme significantly increases the powers of the research consortium. Transfers of budget between partners, changes to the workplan, adding new partners during the project, even running Calls for Proposals can now all be done under the control of the consortium.

Results of FP6 EOI received by the Commission

The European Commission invited the submission of expressions of interest (EoI) to participate in research actions with an Integrated Project or a Network of Excellence for topics throughout the seven thematic priorities of the Specific Programme Proposal - Integrating and Strengthening the ERA - and thematic priorities 2.2 and 2.3 of the Specific Programme Proposal - Nuclear Energy.

From 11 to 13 November 2002 the European Commission will hold a major conference to mark the launch of the EU's Sixth Framework Programme for research, which will cover the period from 2002 to 2006.
