The 2004 Berlin Conference Greening of Policies focuses on Interlinkages and Policy Integration, and will highlight the main obstacles to integrated decisionmaking, discuss successful strategies and pay special attention to interactions between regimes and policies on the international and national level respectively.

Being the fourth of this annual conference series and featuring 32 panel sessions and 11 keynotes, with altogether more than 100 speakers from all continents and various disciplines, the conference provides you with an excellent opportunity to learn more about the state of the art regarding this major challenge to present and future environmental policy.

Papers and plenary contributions at the conference will provide a rich overview on experiences in integration of environmental concerns at the different levels of policy making, in the different policy fields and in different countries. First-hand-experience will be shared regarding potentials and restrictions of strategies and instruments for policy integration. Plenary speakers include Juergen Trittin (German Environmental Minister), Frans Berkhout (Chair IHDP-IT), Guy B. Peters, Bill Lafferty, Oran Young, Nicholas Ashford and others.
