ICABR Pre-Conference: The Economics of Agriculture Biotechnology

The aim of the pre-conference is to provide firm knowledge of theory and experience in agriculture biotechnology economics and regulations. At the end of the course, the participants should have a clear understanding of the economics of agriculture biotechnology. Participants will gain experience in how economic theory can be used to analyse benefits and costs of agriculture biotechnology at different levels. Finally, participants will get acquainted with recent developments in regulatory issues in agriculture biotechnology.

The target groups are science managers, policy advisers and PhD-students on science and innovational issues that operate in the public and in the private sector.

The maximum number of participants is set at 20. Registration is only final when course fee has been paid.

Pre-conference fees:
The fee is 1270 EUR for participants attending the pre-conference workshop and ICABR conference and 900 EUR for the pre-conference only. Participants can book a full board participation (accommodation plus food) for additional 1490 EUR for the pre-conference and conference including transport Rome-Ravello-Rome.

Scholarships:
A limited number of scholarships are available for applicants from African, Caribbean and Pacific countries made available by CTA (http://www.agricta.org/). Applicants, applying for a scholarship should send a curriculum vitae and a one page motivation letter by e-mail to Vittorio Sanataniello (icabr@economia.uniroma2.it) before April 30, 2005. Decisions for scholarships will be based on a competitive assessment. Acceptance letters will be sent out by May 28.
