PhD summer school on Green Finance: Overcoming barriers to low-carbon investments

Significant investments are necessary to implement the COP 21 goal of limiting global warming to 2°C. Given the ongoing urbanisation, it will be especially important to invest in low-carbon emission infrastructure in cities in order to substantially reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. Policy makers and cities are thus facing a demanding task for the next decades. Explore in our Summer School how barriers to climate finance and lock-in effects can be overcome. During the two-week programme, you will develop an action plan for relevant stakeholders in the field. Frankfurt, Germany, is the ideal location to learn about the role of the financial sector in the green transition of Europe’s economy. You will be at one of the financial centres in Europe which is home to the European Central Bank and other large international financial institutions. Challenges
