All PhD students; Background required: participants should be open for mathematical and physical aspects of biological processes
The course covers processes in soil that are relevant for key soil functions as biomass production, water storage and flitering and carbon storage. It provides an overview on state-of-the-art experimental and modeling approaches with respect to water flow and solute transport, multiphase dynamics in porous media, soil-root interaction and turnover of soil organic matter.
