Introduction to systems thinking and system theory as a scientific paradigm to explore, understand, and handle complex natural and social systems. Introduction to methodologies, tools and skills in system dynamics modelling to deal with dynamic feedback processes and to guide changes in complex systems. Discussion of basic definitions, concepts, and models. Guiding through the concepts of stocks and flows, causal (feedback) loops, and how to identify them in systems. Practical exercises in building and simulating system dynamics models (system archetypes) in VENSIM.
