is a collaborative research and PhD/postdoc training institution of Wageningen University (WU), working on fundamental and strategic issues related to agricultural production systems and sustainable land use. Up to 1999 the Graduate School was known as the Graduate School Production Ecology (PE).

RSEE was established in February 2009 as a local research school within the research institute, Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Studies (CEES) at the University of Groningen and is adminstered under the Groningen Graduate School of Science (GGSS).
RSEE works closely with other national institutes and research schools throughout the country in order to ensure the timely availability of specialized advanced courses, master classes, summer schools and meetings for PhD students.
