SENSE symposium on: Innovative Techniques for a Sustainable Environment

Keywords: bioremediation, bio-hydrogen, wastewater treatment, bio-energy, bio-electricity

Current and future environmental issues, such as energy shortage, pollution and maintenance of a clean environment for future generations, are getting more awareness in the world.

In order to cope with these issues, research is necessary and development of new and innovative techniques is required. Good communication and cooperation between the academic world and industry can stimulate efficient applications of these techniques.

This SENSE-symposium emphasizes on ongoing research in the fields of wastewater treatment, bioremediation and bio-energy, and aims to link fundamental research to industrial applications.

Speakers from academia will show their findings and ongoing research in audible and poster presentations. Speakers from industry will present applications of scientific output. Overall this symposium offers a platform for researchers, students and industry to discuss new developments.

This 2-day SENSE symposium will be held on the 19th & 20th of February 2009 at Wageningen University.
