Seminar on Remote Sensing (14 May 2009)

This seminar is especially for PhD students in the field of remote sensing, although everyone who is interested in this field is welcome!

Date & time: May 14th, 10.00 – 17.00

Location: Institute for Environmental studies, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

Costs: No costs, lunch provided

Subscribe: annelies.hommersom@ivm.vu.nl or 020-5989552 (email preferred)

Background and aim of this seminar:

As a PhD student remote sensing, I found out that there is not much contact between PhD students remote sensing at the various Dutch universities and institutes. Especially between groups working in different “fields” (optical water or land, and acoustic remote sensing) there is not much information exchange. The aim of this seminar is to change this! If you are a PhD students working on remote sensing or using remote sensing data, you are invited to present your research, in an oral presentation or with a poster.

We will:

- Broaden our view on what research is done on remote sensing

- Present our own research, just started to nearly finished, plan or results

- Discuss the problems we encounter, and the nice ideas we have

- Meet other PhD students working on remote sensing, tighten the contacts with other research groups and exchange addresses

How to subscribe

For a presentation (only PhD students): Subscribe at latest April 16th (earlier is better, there is limited presentation time in one day) and sent:

- what you want to present:

o a normal presentation

o a short presentation (for example if you just started)

o a poster (can be additional to an oral presentation, as long there is place)

- name, institute, email address, telephone number

For just joining the seminar: Subscribe at latest May 7th (earlier is better, there is limited place)

The precise program will be available late April.

Hope to meet you in May!

Annelies Hommersom
