I see the main link Research, but where are my research projects?
Our research projects are described on this website and can be found via the main menu. Choose the core you are interested in and follow the link to all research projects within that core. You can also search for research via the search option, browse by keyword and/or by institute.
SENSE Researchers can add their projects via the Contribute Link on their personal page. For this, login and follow the "My Details" link.
I am a PhD student or SENSE Researcher and would like to see my research description on this website. How do I do this?
Once you are registered at the SENSE website as a PhD student you can go to the area with all your details. The link to that area is on the left in your menu, or go to http://www.sense.nl/roles/account In there, you will see a button "contribute". Click on this and fill in your details.
I want to show my photo together with my research project. How do I do this?
You can add your photo via the "My Details" page. In there, go to edit Profile and add the photo with the upload link. Your photo will be checked for size and viewability. Once approved, it is shown on your own menu, and on your research page.
I want to join, but I do not currently work at one of the partner institutes. How do I join your Research School?
You can only join the Research School when you are a PhD student at one of the partner institutes. See our page that lists our partners. If you want to search for a PhD vacancy (in the Netherlands you will become an employee of an institute) you can search the website of Academic Transfer: http://www.academictransfer.nl/.
All research clusters are now online on the SENSE Moodle website. Each cluster has its own group page in the SENSE Moodle environment.
Go to Moodle Server and click on the cluster, listed under ‘courses’ in the right hand side of the Moodle site. A list of all research clusters is available on Moodle Research Cluster Webpage
What can members do/see there?
On a cluster group page you can find a description of the research topics that the cluster is about. Furthermore you can view interesting documents that are shared within the cluster, such as articles, reviews, and reports and presentations from past meetings. Your cluster page has a group forum where members can exchange ideas and information.
How can cluster coordinators benefit from Moodle?
SENSE Moodle provides several tools for quick and easy information exchange and helps you foster collaborations with researchers working in your Research Cluster(s). You can easily post events, articles and discussion topics using the forums and group e-mails. Cluster activities that are organised, such as symposia, short courses, seminars, ‘meet & greets’, can be posted so participants can meet other people in the cluster in real life. All cluster participants get regular e-mail updates of new posts. You can also send e-mail messages to members. As research fields evolve, you can even start a new research cluster. Sections 3 and 4 contain instructions how you can use these Moodle tools.
How can cluster members benefit from Moodle?
Members will receive regular updates from activities on the page (they can adjust the frequency of updates in the settings of their Moodle profile). In this way members will stay informed of what’s happening in the cluster. Members can also share their own ideas and questions with other cluster members via the forum, or contribute literature to the resource library.
