Abstract:

In my thesis I present an analysis of an experimental study of the impact on birds of aerially applied fenitrothion and chlorpyrifos for locust control and of fenitrothion residues on locusts nymphs after operational treatments. I further analyse the effect of alternative treatments with conidia of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium acridum and their impact on birds and bird predation of locusts and grasshoppers.
