Symposium Frontiers in Ecology: The soil-plant interphase

Date: 17 May 2017
Location: C2005+C2006, Orion Building, Wageningen University Campus, Wageningen

Scope

We rarely reflect on the life beneath our feet, yet we are very dependent on it for sustaining our food production and health. Moreover soil-plant interactions provide an exciting playground for discovering novel ecological and evolutionary interactions between the aboveground- and belowground world. In this symposium five renown ecologists from across the globe will share their most recent insights on these interactions with you.

Set-up

The symposium consists of a morning session with lectures by international experts in the field of soil ecology. In the afternoon, a Masterclass is organized, in which PhDs and postdocs have the opportunity to interact with the experts. This Masterclass will contain 5 sessions of 30 minutes each. During each session speakers are asked to address two elements: 1) Research and scientific questions/issues raised by participants and 2) Career development and perspectives. Note that this Masterclass is only open for PhDs and postdocs.
