Amsterdam International Water Week 2018: Adressing water 3.0 - from vision to action

Date: 15 November 2018
Location: Amsterdam

The Amsterdam International Water Week Summit 2018 is a high-profile landmark event to help accelerate the practical progress of the established AIWW initiative towards its global goal of a sustainable water environment. We invite you to be part of this first edition of the AIWW Summit, taking place on 15 November 2018 in Rotterdam.

Inspire us with your ideas, share your strategies and focus, contribute to the discussions, and stimulate action. This special Summit will make a crucial contribution to the ongoing progress on water issues being led by the AIWW series.

The AIWW Summit 2018 aims to:

  • Set the global agenda for the AIWW 2019,
  • Reflect on the Amsterdam Agreements and solutions that were shaped during AIWW 2017,
  • Build upon the results and outcomes of AIWW 2017 and take the discussions further,
  • Intensity global partnerships,
  • Provide an opportunity for the AIWW Community to meet, supporting its members in refreshing their enthusiasm and commitment.

Agenda-setting programme and output

The AIWW Summit 2018 gathers high-level delegates to participate in interactive parallel sessions focusing on Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030, progress made on the Amsterdam Agreements, new insights by Game changers in water and the outcomes of the High Level Panel on Water.

The afternoon consists of a plenary session with keynotes and contributions by representatives of government, cities, knowledge institutes, utilities and industry. Discussions will then be taken further in ten action-oriented roundtables focusing on funding, partnerships, water value, circularity, business models, water efficiency, monitoring and policies.

The output of the AIWW Summit will result in a roadmap that will form the basis and inspiration for next year's Amsterdam International Water Week, taking place on 4-8 November 2019.
