On behalf of the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre and KNMI, it is our pleasure to invite you to a seminar titled Forecast-based Financing: Debating the research agenda for early warning early action.

In this interactive event, speakers and participants will discuss next steps in early warning systems, specifically the use of Forecast-based Financing to plan for early action in the humanitarian sector. This is an opportunity for participants to learn and get the latest insights on this exciting new field of work (relevant to climate risk management and adaptation, weather and climate services, as well as development and humanitarian work). The goal of this seminar is to identify priority research areas going forward.

The program will be the following:

14:00  Short presentations and audience discussion
15:30  Coffee Break
16:00  Participatory debate: Should we be trying to assess the value of early warnings?
