Art performance Marten Scheffer (WUR) inspired by Trajectories of the Earth System in the Anthropocene

Artist Tone Bjordam and scientist and musician Marten Scheffer performing live on stage on May 28th, 2019. The performance was the opening act at ECCA, European Climate Change Adaptation Conference 2019 at CCB in Lisbon, Portugal, in front of 1200 people in the audience. Many thanks to curator Julia Bentz and the ECCA 2019 team.

A frozen Earth. A hothouse Earth. And the fragile state in between; the Stabilized Earth System.

Inspired by the scientific article "Trajectories of the Earth System in the Anthropocene", (W Steffen et al, 2018).

Video by artist Tone Bjordam, creating magical and complex microcosms, projected real time in huge magnification. Scientific storytelling and soundscapes by scientist and musician Marten Scheffer.
