Introduction:

Restoration and management of shallow, disturbed Dutch peatlakes.

Aim:

Study the effects of different restoration strategies applied in eutrophic lakes, such as biomanipulation and water level fluctuation, on aquatic foodweb relations. Especially study the applicability of these strategies to reduce cyanobacteria dominance or blooms in shallow lakes.

Research:

Studying foodweb relations in shallow peat lakes with the use of stable isotope analysis. And testing the use of large freshwater mussels in grazing of cyanobacteria.
