Dissertation title:

Time series analysis of remotely-sensed TIR emission: linking anomalies to physical processes

Group: University of Twente, Department of Earth Systems Analysis
Promotor: Mark van der Meijde

Abstract:

Time series analysis and image processing techniques are developed to isolate localized anomalies in satellite TIR imagery. Atmospheric simulations and different satellite products are tested to minimize the effect of atmospheric influences on the input. The extracted anomalies are further examined for their spatiotemporal link with physical processes, especially in relation to natural hazards (volcanoes, earthquakes).
