Micropollutant degradation in water by photochemical processes

The increasing legislation pressure, risks associated with micropollutants, and the insufficient efficacy of conventional WWTPs on micropollutants removal have formed a joint driving force that is boosting studies on more efficient treatment technology. This thesis contributes to a better understanding and further development of photochemical treatment processes for micropollutant removal from aqueous streams. Emphasis of the experimental work of this thesis was given to two topics: (1) Further development of UV/TiO2 technique by application of TNA as immobilized catalyst; (2) Development of alternative photochemical water treatment technique for micropollutant removal from wastewater.
