Group: Environmental Geography, IVM, VU University Amsterdam

Promotor:
Prof. P.H. Verburg

Abstract:

My thesis aimed to generate a proper understanding of how outdoor recreation in European landscapes can be quantified. It addresses the quantification of outdoor recreation on different spatial scales and in different context using interdisciplinary methods. Improved insights about outdoor recreationists can help decision makers in further targeting landscape planning activities and interventions contributing to sustainable and resilient peri- urban landscapes that can fulfil the demand for outdoor recreation by different user groups.
