Lecturer Meteorology and Air Quality, Wageningen University

For our group we are looking for an enthusiastic

Lecturer (32-38 hours)

that will be actively involved in the education of the chair group Meteorology and Air Quality. The tasks are: coordination and teaching of one or more courses (Bsc level), BSc-thesis supervision, assistance in tutorials and practicals, support in organizational tasks (scheduling, examination, maintenance electronic learning environment, contacts with students, outreach), innovation in individual courses and between courses (contents, teaching methods, learning trajectories) and acquisition of funding for educational innovation.

We ask 

  • A completed PhD in atmospheric sciences or related fields and affinity with the field of meteorology and air quality. 
  • Experience in academic education, both in teaching and in the development of education; preferably having a teaching qualification (either 1st degree secondary education, or university teaching (UTQ)), or willingness to obtain the UTQ. 
  • Strong communication skills, both in writing and speaking, in English (at least level C1, willing to work towards level C2) and preferably Dutch. 
  • Affinity with students. 
  • Initiative, creativity, accuracy and goal-orientation. 
  • Organizational skills and a collaborative attitude.
